Representation of local farmers in Brussels
The Development Agency of Harghita County, a subordinated institution of Harghita County Council is the beneficiary of the EU project entitled „CAPfuture –CAP Information measures for healthy and quality foods”, in the period of 2021–2022.
Within this project, the team of the Development Agency of Harghita County, together with a delegation of experts and stakeholders, represents the interests of Harghita County in the European Parliament, on the 26th of April, 15.00 CET, on various topics: small farms, short food chains, Farm to Fork strategies, local and traditional products, commonage.
During the current food crisis, the local products as well as the organic food is becoming even more important.
Mr. Árpád Cilip, the director of the Development Agency of Harghita County emphasized that it is extremely important for the local encountered problems to be discussed in Brussels, as the Common Agricultural Policy is undergoing a transformation. It is important that the final decision on the Common Agricultural Policy is taken in a way that is favorable to for small mountain farms.
The topics of the seminar are as follows:
